Alfa Framtak exits Greiðslumiðlun Íslands ehf.
Last week it was announced that Alfa Framtak, together with co-owner Landsbankinn, had sold their combined 100% shareholding in Greiðslumiðlun Íslands ehf. (GMÍ) to Síminn hf. The transaction is subject to approval by the Icelandic Competition Authority.
Following the completion of this sale the AF1 fund will have distributed 1.15x (DVPI) of the money drawn from investors, with 3 of the 6 companies invested in remaining in the fund. The DVPI is twice the average for funds of this vintage in Europe according to Pitchbook.
Alfa Framtak originally invested in GMÍ in 2019, with the goal of supporting continued growth and development based on the company’s strong foundation. Over the past years, GMÍ has significantly strengthened its operations, introduced new revenue streams, and built a solid platform for further expansion.
We congratulate GMÍ and the team on this milestone and wish the company, its team and new owners continued success in the years ahead.
